Philip Hillmer

Research Assistant Professor

Current research is in epistemology and ethics — exploring the thematic movement of thought from Kant to Nietzsche — with the goal of constructing a viable model of epistemological realism and normative ethics in a postmodern context.  Hillmer is also working in the area of applied ethics through an appointment in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, within the College of Engineering.  In addition, he serves as a lecturer in Engineering Ethics for the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers.
