Interests include philosophy of law, legal theory, ethics, and political philosophy. He works on procedural justice, virtue jurisprudence, constitutional theory and on issues at the intersection of law and technology. His most recent publications include "Popular? Constitutionalism?" in the Harvard Law Review, "Virtue Jurisprudence: An Aretaic Theory of Judging" in Metaphilosophy, and "Public Legal Reason" in the Virginia Law Review. His book on the theory of procedure is forthcoming from Oxford University Press.
