Interdisciplinary Study

Graduate students at Illinois may engage in interdisciplinary study while working towards their degrees in philosophy. They may pursue dual degree programs in the Colleges of Medicine (M.D./Ph.D. program) and Law (earning the J.D. as well as the Ph.D.). Other interdisciplinary interests may be pursued in a variety of other campus units and programs with which the department is affiliated:

  • Criticism and Interpretive Theory
  • Science, Technology, and Society
  • History, Philosophy, and Sociology of Science
  • Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence
  • Religious Studies
  • Arms Control, Disarmament, and International Security

For more information about interdisciplinary options and program requirements, please speak with a faculty member.
